I just got back from the grocery store, and I can say with confidence that I will not be walking again until March.
The world gets a lot bigger in winter, at least for us lowly pedestrians. The smallest trip is a strugle against ice, wind, and a terrestial time dilation that causes less time to pass in the real world than you experience.
I miss the summer, when I don’t have to think twice about walking for a half hour or more.
This is what I get for living in the suburbs.
